Depositing with a Capitec account

Due to an issue with depositing funds using a Capitec bank account, we have identified a workaround solution. Here's how it works:

To begin, please note that you will need two devices to make a deposit using a Capitec account. This could be two phones, or a combination of a PC/laptop and a phone.
 

  1. After initiating your deposit, you will be directed to a page that prompts you to open your banking app and scan a QR code to complete the transaction, similar to the example shown below:
     

     

  2. Once the QR code is displayed on your device (this must be the device without the banking app, such as a PC or secondary phone), you will need to scan the QR code using your Capitec banking app.
